Responsibilities Include: 
  • Dismantles, moves, installs, or repairs machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Examines machinery or mechanical equipment; identifies reasons for malfunction and completes repairs and/or maintenance

  • Uses hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments to repair and maintain production equipment and ancillary equipment

  • Cleans plant facilities, equipment, and work areas as required

  • Assist with installing new equipment and systems. Repairs and maintains current equipment and systems as needed

  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies

  • Follows established safety and environmental policies and procedures, and promotes continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance in the workplace

  • Performs special program tasks, such as annual and semi-annual PM’s

  • Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues

  • Completes work orders and orders parts as needed

  • Provides on the job training and instruction to maintenance technicians

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Education/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 1 year prior maintenance experience in a leadership role, required
  • 2-4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

Special Skills/Abilities/Knowledge: 
  • Experience with electrical maintenance is preferred, but not required

  • Ability to interpret technical manuals

  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance according to published guidelines

  • Ability to repair, dismantle, install or move machinery and mechanical equipment

  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures

  • Knowledge of maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and systems

  • Ability to test systems and/or operations in compliance with published standards

  • Ability to accurately use rules, calipers, micrometers, and other related measuring tools

  • Knowledge of inspecting and cleaning utility plant equipment

  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds as needed

  • Ability to lift and/or move 50-100 pounds with assistance

  • Ability to regularly climb, lift, bend, stand, walk, twist, turn, and reach with arms and hands

  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Work Environment: 
  • Work involves regular exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises
