Job Description: 
Maintain equipment plant-wide with primary focus on lamination and balloon blowing.  Heavy PLC, relay logic and electronics.     
Responsibilities Include: 
  • Inspect and test malfunctioning medical or related equipment, following manufacturers’ specifications and using test and analysis instruments   
  • Test or calibrate components or equipment, following manufacturers’ manuals and troubleshooting techniques, using hand tools, power tools, or measuring devices
  • Keep records of maintenance, repair, and required updates of equipment 
  • Perform preventative maintenance or service, such as: cleaning; lubricating; or adjusting equipment
  • Test, evaluate, and classify excess or in-use medical equipment and determine serviceability, condition, and disposition, in accordance with regulations
  • Other duties as assigned 
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent AND 2-5 years of related experience with electrical systems, or related equipment.  Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted of the right candidate
  • Successful candidate must be available to work extended hours including holidays and weekends when needed 
  • Successful candidate must be eligible to work in the United States 
  • In-depth electronics background PLC and other programming. 
  • Troubleshooting electrical and pneumatics systems 
Special Skills/Abilities/Knowledge: 
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of PLC programming 
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and other structures 
  • Knowledge of the security practice for all facility locations in Athens
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and work from elevated heights (ladders, scaffolding, attics, etc.)
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines while maintaining composure and professionalism 
  • Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships within the organization and with vendors and outside related parties
  • Good organizational skills.  Proficient computer skills for reporting purposes qualifications
Work Environment: 
Physical Requirements  
  • Medium Work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, climbing, and balancing, pushing, pulling, and lifting   
  • Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.  Occasional outside work
  • Frequent physical effort required

  • Requires working alone or with other mechanics and technicians for job completion. 
  • Controlled temperatures, exposure to outside elements, florescent lights, phone conversations, occasional overhead paging.
