Job Description: 

Light and/or heavy equipment operation.  Work as part of a crew of Operators and/or Temporary status employees as directed by the Supervisor, Foreman, Crew Leader or Operator designated to supervise the crew.  May include work outside of normal business hours. 

Responsibilities Include: 
  • Directly responsible for the execution of work assigned by his/her crew supervisor.
  • Reporting of completed job data to supervisor including, but not limited to:  labor and equipment time, materials ordered, used, stockpiled, hauled, or returned.
  • Responsible for the proper upkeep, care, maintenance, and storage of crew assigned equipment and assigned crew equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned 

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) 

Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening, post conditional job offer physical examination and able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as deemed necessary for certain locations by supervisory personnel.  Attendance is a consideration for all job advancements. 

Special Skills/Abilities/Knowledge: 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
● Class A Commercial Drivers License
● Light equipment experience
● One heavy equipment specialization
● Obtain a Jailers License within 12 months of hire date. 
Preferred additional skills (but not required):
● Welding and cutting torch operations
● Carpentry knowledge
● Concrete pouring and finishing
● Ability to work off the ground in elevated positions, such as on ladders and lifts. 
Work Environment: 
Daily sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, pulling, reaching and lifting items possibly weighing in excess of 50 lbs or more in an outdoor environment with exposure to extreme weather conditions.
